MIAMI, FL. (November 10, 2014) Care Resource, a nonprofit organization and Federally Qualified Health Center serving residents in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties is hosting a very special open house for their new office located on the 3rd floor on 1901 SW 1st Street in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami on Thursday, November 13th from 4pm – 6pm.
The open house will include delicious hor d’oeuvres, refreshments, Spanish guitar music, a tour of the new facility and remarks from Care Resource’s CEO Rick Siclari, Miami-Dade County – District 5 Commissioner Bruno A. Barreiro and State Senator René García.
State Senator René García is also presenting a check for the purchase of Care Resource’s new Health Screening Mobile Unit that includes – two rooms fully equipped for HIV testing, education and counseling and for wellness screenings like blood pressure measurements, glucose and cholesterol testing.
This new office now serves the areas of Little Havana, Shenandoah, Little Gables, North Coral Gables, Historic Coral Way and the City of Miami. Individuals in these areas, especially those that are at or below the 200% Federal Poverty Level, will have access to a range of services that include adult primary care, pediatrics, gynecology, case management, family planning, outpatient mental health and substance abuse, HIV counseling and testing and primary care, and referrals to such other services as inpatient substance abuse treatment or specialty care. Most services will be provided on a sliding fee scale and regardless of the ability of the patient to pay.
According to Care Resource Chief Executive Officer Rick Siclari, M.B.A., “As this will be Care Resource’s fourth office in South Florida, we are looking forward to again improving the health of individuals and families in our community.” This new office began accepting clients in September 2014.
