WELCOME PERRY ELLIS INTERNATIONAL
AIDS WALK MIAMI RED RIBBON PARTNER

Perry Ellis (1940 – 1986) is regarded as one of the most outstanding and influential designers of American sportswear.

During the 1970s and 1980s, Perry Ellis became known for his non-traditional, modern classics, and was lauded for consistently creating innovative fashion with "a twist".  The Perry Ellis brand became synonymous with sophisticated, preppy style. During his fashion career, Perry Ellis won eight Coty Awards between 1979 and 1984, won the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Award in 1981 and also served as president of the CFDA.

At a time when fashion designers were becoming glamorous celebrities, Perry Ellis remained somewhat of an enigma. He was startlingly handsome, yet dressed in an anti-fashion uniform consisting of khaki pants, a dress shirt with the cuffs rolled up, and Topsider shoes left over from his college fraternity days. Famously shy, he exuded charisma. Although heralded as an overnight sensation, he had definitely paid his dues on the way up. A household name, he kept his personal life private. One minute he was at the top of his game, or so it seemed, and next came the shocking news of his death from AIDS on May 30, 1986.

A gaunt Perry unveiled his latest line. People who attended the show, aware of Perry's health problems, knew it would be his last. When the show ended, Perry, too weak for the traditional walk down the fashion runway, appeared briefly in the doorway of the showroom where he received a standing ovation. A few hours later, Perry collapsed and was rushed to a hospital where he slipped into a coma. Two weeks later, on May 30, 1986, Perry Ellis died at age 46.

In April 1999, Miami-based Supreme International acquired Perry Ellis. Supreme changed its name to Perry Ellis International and its stock symbol to PERY.

Looking to the future, Perry Ellis International is positioned to respond to the ever-changing retail climate; its proactive approach propels it to new heights in consumer recognition, revenues and profits. WELCOME 82GO WATER
OFFICIAL WATER SPONSOR OF AIDS WALK MIAMI

Watch 82Go Water in Action on YouTube!AIDS Walk Miami would like to take this opportunity to welcome our 24th Annual AIDS Walk Miami Water Sponsor - 82Go Water for their generous support and donation for this years' fundraiser.

82Go Water (pronounced “Eight To Go”) is a pouch or “bod” as they call it, that is filled with eight ounces of water using a reverse osmosis method of purifying, leaving the water with a clean, pure taste. While on the surface eight ounces of water in a pouch might not sound like something very exciting, this product’s extremely innovative approach to a category that has been beaten up over environmental issues is huge. The same amount of plastic used to make a single cap for a bottle of water is equal to one 82Go bod.

In addition, the product offers users the ability to have a disposable water source that can be opened with one hand (you open 82Go by using your teeth on one of the corners) and takes up almost no space after consumption. Both of these things are key for users who are on the go. like participants of the Walk for example. And, unlike many other packaging innovations that we see, this one both tackles the problem and the use of it is immediately obvious and intuitive.

82Go has a visual appearance that’s technical and minimalist, but still approachable and fun. Overall, 82Go is one of those extremely rare products that takes something that’s ubiquitous and mundane (a bottle of water) and turns it into something that’s extremely innovative and potentially game changing.

Look for 82Go Water coming to a retail location near you. For more information on this unique approach to hydration and environmental conservatism, click here to visit their site. To watch their video demonstration, click on the image above.
