Rick Siclari, M.B.A
EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR
|
As
Executive
Director of Care Resource, Rick Siclari is responsible for the overall
management and leadership of all aspects of this 10+ million dollar
comprehensive HIV/AIDS organization, which provides a continuum of
services including targeted prevention programs, counseling and
testing, early intervention, medical care and clinical research, case
management, psychosocial counseling, and other supportive
services.
Mr. Siclari oversees all activities, programs, financial management,
development, and staff across its operations in 2 South Florida
Counties and is the primary interface with, and is accountable to, the
Board of Directors. Rick spearheaded a successful corporate merger of
the former Health Crisis Network (HCN) and Community Research
Initiative of South Florida (CRI) into the present day Community AIDS
Resource, Inc. Dba / CARE RESOURCE in July of 1998.

Dorothy
Holmes, Ph.D.
PRESIDENT
|
Dr. Dorothy A. Holmes was born and reared in Miami. She is the fifth of seven children. She was educated in the Dade County Public Schools system. After completing high school in 1967 from Mays Jr. and Sr. High School, Dr. Holmes graduated from Miami-Dade Community College. She then attended Florida A &M University and later graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. In 1981 she obtained a Master degree in Social Work from Barry University, and in 1991 she obtained her doctor of philosophy degree in psychology from Miami Institute of Psychology.
As a psychologist, Dr. Holmes worked in the Florida Juvenile Justice system and the adult criminal system as a forensic psychologist. She is currently a psychologist with the Florida State Office of Disability Determination and Jessie Trice Community Health Center. Her profession includes work with children, adults, families, substance abusers, disability issues, and individuals living with HIV/AIDS. She is the owner of Dorothy A. Holmes Psychological Services, Inc.
Dr. Holmes is a Past President of The Association of Black Psychologists, and member of the local chapter of The Association of Black Psychologists, South Florida Chapter. She is the president of the Board of Directors of Care Resource, an agency for the treatment and care of individuals infected with HIV/AIDS. Dr. Holmes also is a member of the New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

David
Paul
VICE
PRESIDENT

David
Paul, Ed. M., is the Clinical Services Director in the Counseling
Department at Barry University. Mr. Paul has several years of
administrative and teaching experience in higher education and
community service. He served as the Interim Academic Dean and
Chairperson for the Health Sciences & Related Studies Department at
the Medical Center Campus of Miami Dade College. Additional positions
include Interim Dean of Administrative Services & Student Services
and Director of ACCESS & Career Services. Mr. Paul was instrumental
in establishing and developing the curricula for degree programs in
Nursing, Biotechnology and Health Sciences. In addition, he has helped
colleges strengthen industry relations and outreach in the community.
Prior to relocating to South Florida, Mr. Paul worked for the State
University of New York system in Employer Relations and Career &
Counseling Services. Mr. Paul has a Master’s degree from the department
of Counseling & Educational Psychology at the University of Buffalo
in New York State. |

Russell
Corbett
TREASURER
|
Russell
Corbett, a native
Miamian, Studied at Miami Dade,
Broward Community and Barry University and worked briefly in retail and
home
health care before taking a job with the US Postal Service in 1981. He
has held
many positions in Mail Processing, Customer Service, and Human
Resources.
In
October 1983, Russell
was one of seven founding board
members of Health Crisis Network (HCN) serving several terms as
Secretary and a
member of the Executive Committee. In 1998, when HCN merged with
Community
Research Initiative (CRI), Russell was elected to the Board of Care
Resource
and has served as one of the Vice Presidents, Treasurer and a member of
the
Executive Committee.
Russell
has also been
active with the South Florida
Renaissance Historical Society and The Episcopal AIDS Ministry at
Trinity
Cathedral. From 1983 until 2001 he volunteered with the outreach
program at St.
Bernard de Clairvaux Episcopal Church in North Miami Beach where he
also sang
in the choir, served several terms on the Vestry served as Verger.
Since 2002,
he has served at his new parish, St. Stephens Episcopal Church Coconut
Grove.
as a Verger, acolyte, chorister, and as a member of & co-chair
of
the Aids
Outreach Ministry.
Russell and
Christopher,
his partner of fifteen years, live
on Enchanted Place in North Miami where they were instrumental in
beginning and
spend their Decembers coordinating the Enchanted Place Holiday Lights
Display,
which has brought over $300,000 in donations to the agency in the last
fourteen
years. |

Daniel
Falcon
SECRETARY

Daniel
Falcon
was raised in Miami and attended the University of Miami, where he
graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems. In
1985, he became a full-time employee at the University of Miami. Daniel
began as a Production Assistant and he has held many positions during
his tenure at Information Technology, where he is currently a Systems
Analyst.
Since health, fitness, and education have always figured prominently in
his life, Daniel has taken the time to research, study and obtain
fitness certifications. He is currently a Spinning instructor and
teaches Spinning and other group classes at a South Beach gym.
Daniel has served several years on the board of the Miami Chapter of
Workout for Hope, a campaign to raise money for AIDS research for City
of Hope in California, and he was chairperson in 1997. He participates
in the AIDS Walk Miami yearly and does what he can to raise monies and
awareness for HIV prevention.

George Castrataro
|
Born
in New York, George moved to Florida in 1992 where he pursued his
undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida, subsequently
receiving a Masters Degree in Public Health. Following graduate school
George worked extensively in the public health field both as a manager
with the Florida Department of Health and later at the National
American Red Cross in Washington, DC. While at Red Cross, George
oversaw operations for one of the largest national disease prevention
programs in the country. George has published research and numerous
scholarly articles in the areas of public health and infectious disease.
In 2001, George founded Non-Profit Capacity Builders, Inc (NPCB) and
simultaneously pursued his Juris Doctorate at Florida International
University. During NPCB’s first year, it secured in excess of
$2,000,000 in grant funding. After graduating law school, George
accepted the role of supervising attorney for Legal Aid Service of
Broward County, Inc. where he managed the Consumer and HIV Law section,
and subsequently created the Human Rights section.
As an attorney, Mr. Castrataro is a nationally recognized expert in
consumer law and foreclosure defense. His work in consumer law has been
featured by the Associated Press, CBC Primetime News, and numerous
local media sources. In 2007, he spear-headed the creation of a
Blue-Ribbon Foreclosure Panel and cochaired the panel with County Mayor
Lois Wexler. In 2008, George created the Law Offices of George
Castrataro, PA where he provides legal services in a wide array of
areas ranging from civil litigation, bankruptcy, discrimination, small
business, and health law.

Jaime
Franco
|
Jaime
Franco is a native Chicagoan. Jaime completed his undergraduate work at
Loyola
University of Chicago and his graduate work at Benedictine University
in Lisle,
Illinois. He received an MBA and an MPH both with an emphasis on health
care
administration. In 2001, Jaime returned to Loyola University
of
Chicago
and is
currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration.
He has a
vast amount of experience in higher education and non-for-profit
organizations. He taught at several colleges and universities in
Chicago,
worked for; Heartland Human Care Services (formerly TIA/Chicago
Connections),Illinois
Department of
Public Health, and the Elgin Mental Health Center focusing on
delivering
quality services to persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Jaime
relocated to Miami in 2003 where he was employed at Miami Dade
College as a full-time faculty member and subsequently accepted a
position at
Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited in the area of Training, Development
and
Quality Assurance. Currently Jaime is employed at FedEx
Express
Latin America &
Caribbean
heading the Finance Training and Development area. |

Ana Garcia
|
Ana Garcia
currently holds a
faculty position as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of
Miami Miller School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics
Division of Infectious Diseases & Immunology since 1986. Ana
has a
Masters degree in Clinical
Social Work (currently completing a Ph.D., in Social Work) from Barry University
in Miami, Florida. Currently,
and is the the Pediatric Coordinator
of our Ryan White Part D
Project (the Miami
Family Care
Program). Having lectured extensively as well as contributed to the
literature on the psychosocial issues affecting infants, children,
youth and their families, Ana will continue to focus her immediate
goals on psychosocial/adolescent research, the transition of 250
perinatally infected youth into adulthood, and further program
development.
As a social work
clinician, she
has worked with children with the HIV disease and their families since
1983. This grassroots experience has contributed to her consulting work
with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the World Health Organization,
PAJHO, the Surgeon General’s Work Group on AIDS, the National Minority
Health
Council,
the Hispanic Women’s Leadership Council,
and the Health Resources Services Administration. Ana has
served on the boards of the National Catholic
AIDS Network and Health Crisis
Network, and is currently a board member of Care
Resources (a Miami HIV/AIDS CBO). |

Anthony Hernandez
|
Anthony Hernandez currently serves as the
Director
of Human Resources for Masada health division of Jewish Community
Services (JCS of South Florida) and has served in this capacity for
four years. While at Masada, he has also served in other
roles
defining his strengths and communicating his dependable and high level
administrative experience. He has shown his abilities both
logistically as well as operationally.
Upon graduation, Mr. Hernandez was recruited
through a college recruitment internship at Florida Power and Light and
was quickly positioned as there Human Resources Recruiter and
Consultant for there Customer Relations business unit. In this role,
Mr. Hernandez was exposed to the processes and procedures in the Human
Resource field for this organization and had to focus on employee moral
and customer service. This role served to improve both the
internal and external expectations to reduce turn over and in turn
create the possibility to promote from within. The skills
learned
during this highly demanding position served an integral role in
developing the skills in making Mr. Hernandez as an asset to any
endeavor he pursues.
Mr. Hernandez is currently pursuing his MBA at Columbia University,
through there interactive online program, he will receive his degree
summer of 2011. Aside from his personal goals, Mr. Hernandez
has
participated for the last seven years as an integral and spirited
member of the logistics team for Miami Book Fair International at Miami
Dade College, Wolfson Campus. In this role, Mr. Hernandez
spends
many late nights assembling the greatest street fair in the United
States with the goal to support the importance of literacy with the
small sacrifice of time well spent. In this yearly
commitment,
Mr. Hernandez has also developed strong relationships with
Administrators that once mentored him as a student and now are some of
his closest friends. |

Georgia McLean
|
Georgia H. McLean is a Human Resources Professional with more than 25 years of successful Human Resources Management experience. She is the Director of Human Resources at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, Florida where she leads Recruitment and Retention, Employee Relations, Employee Education, Employee Benefits, Compensation and Workers’ Compensation. In addition, she is responsible for the Child Care Center on site. She has held HR management positions at Jackson South Community Hospital, Deering Hospital, Ryder System, Inc and Coronia Corporation.
Georgia is very active in the local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Pi Delta Omega Chapter serving as Health Committee Chair. She also servers on several boards; Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida, Inc., Nominating Committee Chair, Care Resource & Food For Life Network, Inc., and The Pamela Hutchinson Foundation Board. In addition, she is Membership Chair for the National Association of Negro Business Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. Miami Dade County Club. She is also active in her church, Christ Fellowship, Palmetto Bay.

Georgia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Nova University, a Master’s Degree in Organization Management from the University of Phoenix, and certification in Employee Relations Law from the Institute of Applied Management and Law.
She is married to Gene W. McLean and they have two sons Gregory McLean (Atlanta, GA.) and Gary Mclean (Los Angeles, CA). She is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Judy Newell
|
Judy
Newell
was born in New Jersey, but has been a resident of South Florida for
thirty-four years. She is the Director of Communication and
Volunteers at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center and has been with
HCA Healthcare since 1992. Previously she was the owner of a small
chain of diet food stores, called "The Thin Weigh".
She and her husband J.P. have been active in the community supporting
many charities. They are Founders of the Diabetes Research
Institute, board members of the Project: New Born at the U of M,
Leadership supporters of the United Way and Humanitarians of the
Gold-Diggers Inc. Judy has received many awards for her
outstanding community service and in 2007 she received her company's
highest award; the National First Humanitarian Award for service, named
after the founder of HCA.
Judy serves on the board of Food for Life Network and was president for
several years. She joined the Care Resource board and remains
passionate about the care of our HIV patients. She supports
the
AIDS walk, White Party and the mission of our agency. Judy
and JP
say that their charities are their children and we are proud they are
part of our family. |

Angel Perez
|
Angel Perez is a
Human Resources Management professional with over 13 years of
management experience having held administrative and leadership roles
in the following industries: hospitality, healthcare, banking, consumer
products, staffing, airline, manufacturing, and education.
Angel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management majoring in
Entrepreneurial Studies from New York City Metropolitan College and a
Masters degree in Human Resources Management from Florida International
University School of Business.
In his current role as Employee Relations Officer for Miami Dade
College, Angel is responsible for the overall operation and
implementation of the College's employee relations, compliance
responsibilities and activities and also serves as an Adjunct at Miami
Dade College, teaching Human Resources Management in the Bachelor in
Applied Science Supervision and Management degree.
Angel serves on the board of South Florida Compensation & Benefits
Association and is an alumnus of the Hospital Trustee Professionalism:
Building Capacity for Excellence in Governance training program. This
training opportunity prepares and promotes individuals from diverse
backgrounds who are interested in serving on the board of their local
hospital or health system. |

Dan Sera
|
Born
and raised in Chicago, Daniel Sera relocated to Miami to attend
Florida International University where he graduated with a degree in
International Relations and Marketing. Daniel currently serves as the
Interactive Creative Director for Carnival Cruise Lines where he
oversees the majority of the company's online properties and internet
marketing initiatives.
As a licensed massage therapist, Daniel often donates his time for
community sporting events, as well as to pursue opportunities for touch
therapy at La Liga Contra el Cancer center in Miami. As a leadership
supporter for United Way, he has volunteered and participated in
various community service programs throughout the South Florida area.
After years as an avid supporter of AIDS Walk Miami for many years,
Daniel joined Care Resource in 2006. Here he continues to promote HIV
awareness and prevention through the agencies outstanding programs. |

Sonja Smith
|
Sonja
Smith is
currently the Senior Sales Executive to the industry leader in fleet
fuel
management, FleetCor Technologies and Ambassador to Associated Builders
and
Contractors. As a
Senior Executive at
FleetCor, Sonja is responsible for establishing and developing new
accounts in
Dade, Broward, and Martin
Counties. Duties include marketing
to new and existing
customers through creation, development, and implementation of fleet
fuel
solutions. Her
duties as Ambassador to
Associated Builders and Contractors enable Sonja to build relationships
with
key companies dedicated to the growth of South
Florida
and responsible for most new construction projects in our community.
Prior
to joining FleetCor, Sonja worked
for nine years in
the communications industry with AT&T. Sonja
spent her early years out of high school
as a non commissioned officer with the United States Marine Corps. As a
soldier
she managed the medical and dental supplies for all Marines deploying
out of Camp
Pendleton, CA
for exercises both foreign and domestic. One
of the things instilled from the
Marine Corps was the importance of
good health and fitness which Sonja lives by to this day, incorporating
running
and healthy eating into her daily lifestyle.
Sonja
first became aware of Care Resource
and Food For Life
Network through her uncle who has been HIV positive for 22 years.
Through her
uncle, having been a recipient of the programs offered at Care
Resource, Sonja saw
first hand how the education, care, treatment, and support services
improved his
health and the overall quality of his life. The impact made on his life
has
forever impacted her life, so when an AIDS charity dropped out of the ING
Marathon in 2009, Sonja, her uncle and cousin, together with Care
Resource founded
the Food For Life Network AIDS Marathon/Half Marathon fundraiser. Sonja
is
honored and proud to give back to the organization and family who
constantly
put the needs of the cause and other people before their own.
When
Sonja is not working or continuing
her education her
hobbies include reading, running, golfing, mountain biking and
occasional sky
diving.
